What is the name of song of Nastia Liukin's floor exercise music?
Q. I really like Nastia Liukin's floor exercise music, but i don't know what the name of the song is. I think it's called Dark Eyes, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know the name of the song and who it's by? Also, is there any place I could download the song or something?
Asked by nlmsfan - Fri Jul 4 21:20:11 2008 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments
A. It's called Dark Eyes, and she was inspired to use it watching Sasha Cohen's 2006 Olympics figure skating short program to the same music. It's a Russian folk song. The lyrics were written by a man named Yevhen Hrebinka and it was eventually set to music, but there's no real specific person who wrote the song. There are a TON of different versions of it, as it's been around for a very long time. If you head over to the Sasha Fans Forum, you can find the version she skated to, but it's not the exact version that Nastia used. If you look up Dark Eyes on iTunes, you'll find a whole series of versions and will probably find the one Nastia is using.

What is the name of Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson's floor exercise music?
Q. What is the name of the music that plays for Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson during their floor routines and/or where can I find it? Ok, so the titles of the music tracks have been determined. Now, does anybody know where I can FIND these tracks?
Asked by RJ B - Wed Aug 20 01:59:41 2008 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Nastia performs to a Russian / Ukranian "gypsy" folk song called (Ochi Chernye), which figure skater Sasha Cohen also performs to (nice departure from Nessum Dorma, in my opinion). If you have trouble finding it under the English translation, try under the original Russian title transliterated above. Otherwise, there is a restaurant scene in the Viggo Mortenson/Naomi Watts movie "Eastern Promises" that features this song performed on accordian.

Will an exercise bike cause the floor to shake too much in my upstairs apartment?
Q. I was thinking of getting a standard bike, but I'm worried it will shake the floor too much, possibly causing the plaster to crack on the ceiling of the apartment below me. Any thoughts? Pelvic floor exercises... How many times during the day and for how long?
Q. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I have been going to the gym, but I haven't been doing any pelvic floor exercises. What exactly are you suppose to do? I read something about sitting down with your back straight and imagine trying to stop urinating midstream? Is this correct? Any advice on this exercise would be most appreciated :)

A. Kegels are pelvic floor exercises used to strengthen vaginal muscles. These are exercises which are pertinent to women's health and pleasure. The pelvic floor is the area of internal muscles around the lower pelvic bones. The muscles are both voluntary and involuntary and are always in a state of partial contraction. The pelvic floor muscles, ideally, are firm and supportive. A healthy active muscle has tone and elasticity. The function of the pelvic floor muscles is to support the pelvic organs: bladder, uterus, and bowel. Also, the muscles must be able to withstand increased pressure due to pregnancy and childbirth. Another important function of these muscles is to provide sphincter control to the bladder, rectum and vagina. (Sphi [cont.]
