It is performed for various reasons. These include strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance and for enjoyment. Frequent and regular physical exercise boosts the immune system, and helps prevent the "diseases of affluence" such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. It also improves mental health, helps prevent depression, helps to promote or maintain positive self-esteem, and can even augment an individual's sex appeal or body image. Childhood obesity is a growing global concern and physical exercise may help decrease the effects of childhood obesity in developed countries. ClassificationFrom Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What is the best exercise to loose all around weight? Q. I havent been able to exercise for a while because of all the homework and places i have to go. I have been eating healthier, but i need to know what exercises would be the fastest/better exercises to loose my extra weight. Asked by ashley_bruce13 - Sat Dec 2 15:05:44 2006 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. Webballs has it...simply "cardio"...something that gets the blood flowing. My personal opinion is, if you are not sweating, you are wasting your time at weight loss. Factors to consider are: What are your limitations to exertion? such as diasabilities, age, current weight, medical, conditioning, etc. As to what you want to be doing to sweat: some run, jog, jump rope, box/spar, dance, etc. Definately consider proper equipment (shoes, weights, etc.) and techniques as to avoid injury. I recently started running the treadmill after yrs w/o running. I'm telling you I spent quite some time picking shoes that would limit the impact to my aging body. LOL Answered by Scott S - Sat Dec 2 15:17:36 2006 What is the best way to exercise when youre un fit? Q. Its been a while since I last did any proper exercise, now that Ive finished college I have all this spare time on my hands and would like to start looking after myself. I try to eat healthily most of the time, but like everyone else, am partial to the odd cake or two! I am 24, 5ft, 6 and my weight is a suprising 8.5 stone. I dont need to lose weight, but I need to do something about my fitness and suppose could do with a bit of toning up. For some one who gets puffed out when climbing the stairs and warn out just buy carrying heavy(ish) grocery bags I think its fair to say my fitness levels are incredibly low, not to mention embarrassing! Any fitness fanatics out there who can give me some advice on what exercises are appropriate for me? [cont.] Asked by Karen B - Fri Jun 15 04:22:58 2007 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments A. Start by walking every day. Reduce your intake of starchy foods and carbs like white bread and soda. Strength training, starting out with 5lbs dumbbells is a good start. Cardiovascular exercise, while tiring, is the ultimate tool to get back into shape! Eat around 1500 to 1800 calories a day, with 35% of those calories coming from protein! Answered by The Last Scion - Fri Jun 15 04:28:15 2007 How can I exercise in my apartment without being the obnoxious neighbor?
Q. I want to do fat burning exercise which requires a lot of movement, how can I do it at home. I live on the 3rd floor and don't want to be extremely noisy, the building has thin floors, when the people on the 4th floor walk, I can hear it, when they do something louder its annoying. I'm going to exercise during the day but I still don't want to be a bitch. I'm overweight and shy so I don't want to go out or to the gym, what can I do at home? Asked by mumupie - Tue Sep 29 18:58:12 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I suggest you focus on changing your diet for a start which will have a significant impact on your desired weight loss. And also, if you live on the 3rd floor and don't want to go out, why not walk up and down the stairs to the 3rd floor several times daily - great exercise and you won't be outside!
